Group Reflection

"I would say throughout most of this project I had a fixed mindset, but sometimes as the project progressed my mindset kept going back and forth. I started having that growth mindset when we got a good idea, but went back to a fixed mindset when I failed to execute it or if it was just a bad idea to begin with... I finished off the project with a growth mindset, as seeing every piece of the project come together made me feel better about our chances of getting a good grade. "                             - Andrew Zell

"My major take-aways about Lima Seniors relationship with this myth is that it is false at this school. The myth of race depicted in Rereading America is that the white race is superior to all of the other minority races. At first we thought that this was true and that this myth did exist in Lima Senior, but while doing the project we found out that in fact this myth did not exist in the school."

"I think the most major take-away from LSH’s relationship to racism inside the community would be definitely how lack luster it is inside of LSH. We came into this project with the mindset that there was absolutely no way there wasn’t racism inside the school with this many different races and this many people. And essentially got proved wrong during the process of trying to prove our hypothesis right. This was very major to me in a personal way, I know we don’t have the best soccer team, or the best football team, or the best lacrosse team. However I’m still proud to go to Lima Senior and I’m a whole lot prouder knowing there’s little to no racism inside our school’s community. " -Josh Keys
